Brazilian kart racing series competes for the awards in Monaco
The Brazilian series Formula Dreams, which tells the story of Brazilian children who want to get to Formula 1, was nominated for the most important award in global sports content.
The Brazilian series Formula Dreams was nominated to compete for the main prize at the world's leading Sports Content Media Rights and Technology Convention. Held annually in Monaco, SPORTEL rewards the best sports audiovisual productions in several categories and the 2021 edition was held October 5-7 in Monte Carlo.
The promo for the Formula Dreams series was one of the three finalists in the "Best Sports Teaser" prize and the only Brazilian production nominated. Produced by Story Productions, an independent Brazilian company, the 10 episode docu-series tells the actual stories of kart racers from 8 to 12 years of age that dream of getting into Formula 1.
The series was filmed during the entire 2018 racing season at the Kartódromo Granja Viana in São Paulo and tells the story of young drivers such as Heitor Farias, Antonella Bassani, Gabriel Koenigkan, Wagner Santilli, Murilo Rocha, and their friends and families.
Story Productions is the production company of director Nick Story and Isabel de Almeida Prado. He is British-Austrian-French, living in Brazil since 2006, and she is an executive producer in São Paulo. The company—based in São Paulo—was inaugurated in 2010 and since then it has been dedicated to the export of Brazilian content. Among their works are audiovisual productions exported to the United States—such as the Culinary Escapes series—and branded content for customers like Hellmann’s, BASF and Siemens.
