The SPORTEL Awards ceremony took place on 5 October 2021 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, with a winner announced in each of the six different awards categories. The awards celebrate the most beautiful images from the world of sports in 2021, and is followed by the 3-day SPORTEL Monaco convention, the world’s leading Sports Content Media Rights and Technology Convention. The honorary president, Prince Albert of Monaco, present at the ceremonies congratulated the Director personally on the success.

Formula Dreams Director & showrunner Nick Story travelled to the awards ceremony, and is delighted at the result:  “I feel incredibly thankful for having worked with all the amazing people involved in making Formula Dreams and for discovering the stories of the families featured in the series. From the promo all the way to the post-production of Season 1, we’re telling the great life adventure of having a dream and trying to make it happen. Just like the ups and downs of athletes on their journey to success, making the series has been incredibly difficult. But the stories of these children and their families are amazing and I’m so excited to be launching the project. Formula Dreams is a Brazilian project that tells the story of Brazilian talent on the road to glory. It’s a big win for Brazilian automotive storytelling.” 

After SPORTEL, Nick Story will be continuing on to Cannes the following week to attend the content market MIPCOM. 

About Formula Dreams

Formula Dreams is a 10-part docu-reality TV series following the rivalry and friendship between a group of youngsters as they compete to be crowned karting champions in São Paulo. The ten episodes reveal how much is at stake, not just for the children, but their families too, whilst also revealing the rich tapestry of the karting world, both on and off the track.
